NNDCC recognized as Distinguished Unit with Honors

Livingston High School Navy National Defense Cadet Corps received the distinction of Distinguished Unit with Honors for the 2022-2023 school year. The distinction was made in recognition of their exceptional achievements during the 2021-2022 school year. The award is given annually to schools whose program ranks in the top thirty percent of the programs in each NJROTC area. The selection is based on the excellence attained in administration, academic performance, military proficiency, and host school support. Program Director SFC Grady Tinker said, “We are so proud to be recognized with this honor. Out of 85 schools in Area 10, LHS was ranked in the top five. Each year our program receives the opportunity to nominate one cadet to the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy. Because we are named a Distinguished Unit with Honors, we are authorized to nominate three eligible cadets to each of these prestigious military academies. The hard work and effort of the battalion continue to pay off. This is the second year in a row that our unit has been awarded this prestigious honor.”
