In 2022, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will award 79 four-year, $20,000 Area. Due by February 1

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to apply for, or to be awarded, an Area Go Texan Scholarship, an applicant must:
1. Be a citizen of the United States. If the applicant’s transcript reflects a place of birth other than the United States, appropriate proof of citizenship must be furnished (i.e. a copy of the photo page of a valid U. S. passport, a copy of Naturalization Certificate or a birth certificate for U. S. Citizen Born Abroad). Applications submitted without proof of citizenship will not be considered. Students with permanent resident status are not eligible to apply.
2. Be a Texas resident.
3. 4. Be a graduating senior in the 2021 – 2022 school year.
5. Be ranked in the top third (1/3) of the graduating class at the completion of the first semester of the senior year. This ranking is to be verified as a part of the official transcript or by an accompanying certification from an appropriate school official.
6. Have made formal application to enroll with intent to attend an accredited, not-for-profit Texas college or university (accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) and participate in a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree. LIVINGSTON GREEN & WHITE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM for SENIORS

The Green & White Scholarship application is moving to an online format.  The Green & White Scholarship booklets and application links will be distributed to the Class of 2022 school email addresses during the week of January 5, 2022.  The deadline for application will be January 28, 2022.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Important Information

  • It takes an average of 30 minutes to complete Phase I of the HSF Scholar Application.
  • No Essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I.

Eligibility

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage, a U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
  • Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit four-year university or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2022 academic year

STUDY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

The Study Club offers an annual scholarship of $500 to a graduating high-school senior or Angelina College student to help the chosen recipient defray the cost of textbooks, transportation, or tuition while pursuing an advanced degree. Attach an essay to your cover letter succinctly responding to the following topic in 250-300 words, using proper English. Essay Topic: In our educational careers we occasionally come across a literary work - fiction or biographical - that inspires our future vision, prompts us to change the way we have lived our life to that point, or simply challenges us to change the way we look at the world. Please select a book that has impacted your life in a positive way, describe it, and explain how it has impacted you. 

Submission Directions: Attach an appropriate cover letter (that includes your name, address, phone number, email, and the name of your school) along with your 250-300 word, double-spaced essay (in a .doc format) in an email to terri.morgan3@gmail.com. SAM HOUSTON ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE SCHOLARSHIP

The Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Scholarship applications are available in the LHS Academic Advising office. BAYLOR UNIVERSITY

Baylor University annually awards scholarships through the Carr P. The J. E. Ducks Unlimited (DU) will award college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of DU. The scholarship program is open to all students; however, it is targeted to volunteers who have shown an exceptional level of commitment to wetlands conservation through participation in their high school club or chapter. SMITH – HUTSON SCHOLARSHIP

Incoming freshmen with established financial need and academic potential are encouraged to apply for the Smith-Hutson Scholarship.  This scholarship provides a portion of tuition, fees, books, supplies, and on-campus room and board. The Smith-Hutson Scholarship Application will be available in the fall each year. The application will be complete upon the receipt of (1) completed online application in myScholarships; (2) high school transcript; (3) financial need documentation (Copy of the Student Aid Report from the 2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid); (4) an essay describing career goals; and (5) two letters of recommendation. Association for Migrant Educators of Texas - High School

Scholarship amounts are determined by the AMET Scholarship Committee on the basis of background in migrant farm work, financial need, and the academic potential of the youth.

Three (3) scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded annually to college undergraduate students and twelve scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded annually to entering freshmen. Scholarship funds are to be used to support the cost of higher education by covering unmet student financial and self-help aid. Scholarships disbursed are not payment for students' services. Scholarship recipients may reapply annually to be considered for an undergraduate award.

Albert Lee Wright, Jr. Memorial Migrant Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor a migratory farm worker or fishing student who has overcome barriers presented by mobility, has performed well academically, and who have provided service to his/her community.

Lydia M. Pena-Delgado Scholarship Program

Scholarship amounts are determined by the Lydia M. Peña-Delgado Scholarship Committee on the basis of background in migrant farm work and the academic potential of the youth. Two scholarships of $1000 will be awarded. Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition and fees required for enrollment or attendance at an educational institution, or for books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction. Scholarships dispersed may not be used for payment of students' services.

The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers – one component of the Raising Texas Teachers initiative – is designed to encourage the best and brightest students to consider a future in the teaching profession.
