Current 9th – 11th Grade Course Catalog Parent Meeting

LHS Academic Advisors will host a Course Catalog Parent Meeting on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at noon and again at 4:45 pm.  You may choose either time that best fits your schedule. This meeting will include information regarding graduation requirements, endorsements, 19-20 Course Catalog updates, dual credit options, and course selections sheets for planning next year’s courses.

Current 8th Grade Dual Credit Parent Meeting

LHS Academic Advisors will host incoming 9th-grade Dual Credit Parent Meetings on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at noon and again at 5 pm.  You may choose either time that best fits your schedule. This meeting will include information regarding dual credit requirements, proposed dual credit courses, graduation requirements, four-year planning, shot record requirements, applying to Angelina College and Angelina course registration paperwork.  

If you are not able to attend, please be aware that each dual credit student will be responsible for applying to Angelina College through the Apply Texas website and also completing the Angelina Dual Credit Registration Form provided by LHS.  It is also a college requirement to have an updated Meningitis Shot. Your child’s Angelina College acceptance letter and registration form are due to Mrs. Vinson, LJH Counselor, by May 1, 2019.

The college financial aid process is starting early. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) can now be submitted as early as October 1.

High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) is a unique program that encourages high school juniors from across Texas to explore the vast opportunities awaiting them in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics or STEM-fields.  Juniors could spend a week at NASA this summer.  To apply for this program, visit http://HAS.aerospacescholars.org.
